There are many, many different ways that you can choose to name your cat. Some people are perfectly fine with keeping the name that a shelter may have provided the cat before you adopted it. Other people may want to wait and see if the cat’s personality warrants any striking names before giving a name to their cat. With that being said, if you are more interested in giving your cat a name as soon as possible, you may want to consider the idea of naming the cat based on its appearance. The color and pattern of your cat’s fur can play a massive role in determining a good name for the cat. There are some cats out there who have far more striking patterns in their fur than other cats with a more monochromatic coat. Klinefelter Syndrome can be briefly summarized as having XXY chromosomes as a male and it comes with a variety of health issues that could impact your cat’s life. With all of that being said, you may want to consider looking at female names for your calico cat first, as it is very likely that your calico cat is a female cat. Best Names for a Female Calico Cat Chances are that you are going to want to base your calico cat’s name off the unique pattern of its fur. The name that you choose will likely be determined by which color is the dominant color of your cat’s coat, not always including the base of white that most calico cats have. If you want to focus on the ginger or orange color of your cat’s fur, you may want to consider the names “Copper,” “Penny,” “Amaretto,” “Clementine,” “Chestnut,” “Honey,” and “Honeybee.” These are all names that will put a focus on your cat’s beautiful ginger patches of fur, and also work as names for orange cats. If you want to focus more on the mixture of colors of its fur, you may want to consider other names. These names can include “Jynx,” “Kiki,” “Marble,” “Piper,” “Reese,” “Rye,” and “Aurora.” These are all names that are either pretty neutral in regard to the colors of your cat’s coat or they reflect the mix of colors, such as a marbled appearance. If you are not necessarily interested in naming your calico cat after its fur but you still want to consider a name that may fit its personality, there are still plenty of options that you can consider.
